I’ve introduced TAKOYAKI(たこ焼き) and OKONOMIYAKI(お好み焼き) as OSAKA’s popular local food.
IKAYAKI(いか焼き) is also very popular. It is like a savory crepe made of wheat flour and chopped squid with dark brown sauce – the same sauce as OKONOMIYAKI.
When cooking, the ingredients are pressed by the special cooking way, so IKAYAKI is thin.
The flavor of squid goes well with dark brown sauce. It is very yummy.
The most famous shop is in HANSHIN-HYAKKATEN(阪神百貨店) or HANSHIN department store near OSAKA station – on the first underground floor.
