The season of KAFUNSHO(花粉症) coming soon

KAFUNSHO is a pollinosis. Literally, KAFUN(花粉) means pollen and SHO(症) means a symptom. It is also translated as hay fever because the symptom is similar to hay fever – getting an itch on eyes and having a runny nose.
The major cause is cedar pollen. In KANSAI area,  the amount of the cedar pollen in the atmosphere is increasing from now on. The most severe period for people who have the cedar pollinosis is from February to April. So the number of people who wear a mask increases in this seoson.
You can watch on TV how serious it is for Japanese. In this season, the weather forecaster expects and reports how much pollen scatters in each district like the weather report. Is it funny?
