HIMEJI castle is also very popular.
The current castle tower was built by IKEDA TERUMASA(池田輝政), a commander of SAMURAI army, in 1609.
This castle tower is white and elegant, it is called SHIRASAGI-JO(白鷺城) or “white heron castle”.
It was designated as a Japanese national treasure in 1931 and a world heritage in 1993.
The nearest station to go there is HIMEJI station of JR SANYO main line or SANYO SHINKANSEN line.
It takes about one hour by S.Rapid train of JR line from OSAKA station to HIMEJI station.
